MONTPELIER -- Marissa Snyder, a senior at Montpelier High School, won a $2,000 scholarship in the Louise Freeland Scholarship competition in Columbus on April 15. She is the daughter of Greg and Rebecca Snyder. The competition, sponsored by Ohio Rural Electric Cooperatives Inc. (OREC), was open to children of employees and trustees of the state's 24 electric cooperatives and affiliated organizations. Snyder's father is a trustee for North Western Electric Cooperative Inc. OREC, headquartered in Columbus, is a Touchstone Energy partner and trade/service association for the state's 24 electric cooperatives that provide power to nearly 400,000 consumers in parts of 77 of Ohio's 88 counties. North Western, headquartered in Bryan, serves approximately 5,900 consumers in parts of Williams, Defiance, Henry and Paulding counties. Comments
