Saturday, Kimberly Bender, 24, Hicksville, was charged with disorderly conduct and obstructing official business following an alleged incident at a Hicksville business.

Saturday, John Chaffins, 25, Hicksville, was arrested on a parole violation issued by the State Parole Authority and also charged with resisting arrest.

Sunday, James Schaffer, 50, Hicksville, was arrested on a warrant out of Defiance Municipal Court for failure to appear.

Sunday, Iva Merritt, 63, Hicksville, was charged with OVI and left of center following a traffic stop in the village.

Sunday, Laura Sandy, 20, Fort Long Beach, Fla., was charged with disorderly conduct while intoxicated. She was taken to the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio, rural Stryker.

Friday, 3:22 a.m., at 23-720 County Road U, a car driven by James Miller, 22, 1227 Schultz St., Defiance, overturned in a field. Miller was cited for failure to control. Damage to the vehicle was heavy.

Friday, 5:44 p.m., on Ohio 109, north of County Road J, a motorcycle driven by Jose Mendoza, 49, G-726 Ohio 109, Hamler, got stuck in a field. Damage to the vehicle was light.

Saturday, 3:36 a.m., at 6-155 Ohio 110, a truck driven by Scott Schwiebert, 24, 11367 Ohio 18, Holgate, struck a driveway embankment. He was transported by McClure rescue to Henry County Hospital where his condition was unavailable. Schwiebert was cited for DUI. Damage to the vehicle was heavy.

Saturday, 1:44 p.m., at County Roads 9 and V, a car driven by Brian Keller, 36, T-024 County Road 9, Liberty Center, struck a stop sign. Damage to the vehicle was light.

Friday, Logan Lirot, 19, Archbold, was cited for obstructing official business after an alleged incident at 23-240 County Road U, Ridgeville Township.

Saturday. Garold Hamm, 33, Holgate, was arrested on a warrant from the Napoleon Police Department.

Sunday, Henry Marksch, 19, Liberty Center, was served a summons for underage consumption and Dustin Marksch, 19, Liberty Center, was served a summons for disorderly conduct and underage consumption after an alleged incident at 111 Kline Ave. Both subjects were transported to the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio, rural Stryker, on probation violations.

Friday, Richard Trevino, 19, Defiance, was arrested on a charge of offenses involving underage.

Saturday, Jessica Armstrong, 22, Wauseon, was charged with DUI following a traffic stop at Oakwood Avenue and Yeager Street.

Saturday, Michael Lewis, 40, Napoleon, was charged with littering after an alleged incident at 844 Monroe St.

Saturday, Jerri Detray, 43, Delta, was served a summons on a charge of disorderly conduct.

Saturday, 11:15 p.m., on Williams County Road 21.N, a vehicle driven by Natasha Reynolds, 16, West Unity, swerved to miss striking a small animal crossing the road, traveled off the right side, overcorrected, turned sideways, continued off the left side of the roadway and struck a utility pole and two steel posts. She was taken by Williams County EMS to Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers, Bryan, where she was treated and released. Reynolds was cited for failure to control. Damage to the vehicle was heavy.

Sunday, Asiah Beltz, 20, Bryan, was charged with underage consumption.

Paulding Common Pleas
James Schooley, 32, 14955 Road 163, Defiance, pleaded not guilty to possession of drugs, a third-degree felony. His bond was set at $50,000, with no 10 percent provision. His pretrial hearing was set for March 31 and his trial for April 29.

Robert Caperton, 38, Paulding County Jail, pleaded guilty to one count of gross sexual imposition, a fourth-degree felony, and two counts of gross sexual imposition, each a third-degree felony. Sentencing was set for April 25.

Condition update

George Gebers Jr., 51, M-950 Ohio 65, McClure, was listed in "serious" condition at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo, this morning. Gebers, a passenger in a truck, was injured in a two-vehicle crash Saturday morning at Ohio 108 and Henry County Road B. A second passenger, Barbara Smith, M-950 Ohio 65, McClure, was transported by Medic 1 to Henry County Hospital where her condition was unavailable.

Correction

The March 11 story about the Wayne Trace Local Board of Education meeting erroneously referred to Peggy Jo Glick and Sharon Peck as high school teachers. They are actually longtime teachers at Wayne Trace Grover Hill Elementary School.
