MONTPELIER -- A Williams County man died Sunday from injuries sustained in a one-car crash Saturday evening near here. Joshua Stuckey, 19, Montpelier, was pronounced dead at the University of Toledo Medical Center, Toledo, at 5:38 a.m. Sunday. According to the Defiance post of the Ohio Highway Patrol, at 10:24 p.m. Saturday, Stuckey was northbound on Ohio 576 in Williams County's Superior Township, when his vehicle went off the east side of the roadway and struck an embankment. Troopers said the vehicle continued up the embankment and hit a power pole before coming to a rest. Stuckey was taken by air ambulance to the UTMC where he was initially listed in "extreme critical" condition. Troopers report that alcohol was not a factor in the crash and Stuckey was wearing his safety belt. Assisting at the scene were the Montpelier Fire Department and Williams County Lifestar. The accident remains under investigation. Comments
