The following is a listing of female athletes from the Defiance six-county area currently competing in collegiate athletics.
The report runs every Tuesday during the sports season with the men and women running every other week.

BROOKE RUFFER (Stryker, sophomore, guard/forward) leads the team in scoring and rebounding with 15.3 ppg and 8.4 rpg. Bluffton finished the regular season 14-11 overall and 10-8 in the HCAC. The Lady Beavers will play Manchester in the conference quarterfinals on Friday.
TANNER HOSTETLER (Pettisville, sophomore, guard) starts and buckets 8.8 ppg. Cornerstone ended the regular season 21-8 overall and 16-6 in the WHAC.
ERICA KING (Pettisville, senior, guard) scored her 1,000th point this season and ended the year averaging 9.9 ppg. The Lady Jackets were 11-14 overall and 8-10 in the HCAC.
KIM BINGLEY (Ottawa-Glandorf, junior, guard-forward) bucketed 6.3 ppg and grabbed 6.7 rpg.
MEGAN ZACHRICH (Napoleon, junior, forward) ended the season with a 6.9 ppg average.
ASHLEY BIRCHMEIER (Columbus Grove, senior, forward) averaged 6.2 ppg to finish the season.
KELSEY TIETJE (Patrick Henry, freshman, center) led the Lady Jackets in scoring (16.1 ppg) and rebounding (10.2 rpg). She set a school record with 26 rebounds earlier this season at Hanover.
ERICA SMAY (Tinora, freshman, guard) started at point guard and netted 3.8 ppg.
ASHLEY WILLIAMS (Pandorda-Gilboa, freshman, guard) started 16 games and averaged 3.6 ppg.
KERI CONINE (Pandorda-Gilboa, freshman, forward) saw action in five games during her rookie campaign.
SARAH FEASBY (Wayne Trace, sophomore, guard) has started in 17 games and is averaging 3.6 ppg for the 12-12 Lancers, which finished the regular season 16-14 overall and 12-6 in the Crossroads League.
JOELLEN FICKEL (Wayne Trace, sophomore, forward) has played in 30 games and while starting five and averages 3.9 ppg.
A.J. STUCK (Antwerp, sophomore, guard) played in 15 games for a Heidelberg squad that finished the regular season 12-13 overall and 5-13 in the OAC.
KACEE HOCKENBERRY (Wayne Trace, junior, guard) the former second-team all-Ohio selection leads the 11-14 Lady Panthers with 15.5 ppg. ODU plays at Tiffin in the GLIAC Tournament on Thursday. The Panthers won the first meeting against the Dragons, 69-55.
TAYLOR MILLER (Napoleon, sophomore, guard) has appeared in 13 games and scored 13 points for the 21-4 and 24th-ranked Polar Bears. ONU has won nine straight games and will host Mount Union tonight in the OAC Tournament quarterfinals.
JESSIE ARNOLD (Antwerp, junior, guard) has appeared in all 30 games and averages 5 ppg for the 23-7 Saints that also finished 16-5 in the WHAC. No. 15 Siena Heights had won eight straight games before suffering a 78-60 setback to No. 2 Davenport on Saturday. The Saints will host an WHAC Tournament quarterfinal on Thursday against UNOH.
ALEXIS JONES (Antwerp, freshman, guard) has played in seven games and averaged 15.3 ppg while adding 4.4 rpg.
JESSICA FARR (Paulding, sophomore, center) has appeared in all 24 games and started two while averaging 3.6 ppg and 4 rpg. Tiffin finished the regular season 7-17 overall and 4-16 in the GLIAC. Tiffin plays Ohio Dominican in the GLIAC Tournament on Thursday.
WRIGHT STATE-LAKE CAMPUS
BRITTANY DRUMMELSMITH (Miller City, sophomore, center) averages 14.7 ppg, 11.1 rpg and 5 blocks per game. Career high 32 points against OSU Lima on 1-15-14. She posted a triple-double against Miami Middletown earlier this season with 24 points, 23 rebounds, and 12 blocks. She also set a school-record with 19 blocks against Southern State.
REBECCA OLASHUK (Tinora, freshman, throws) took seventh in the weight throw at the Capital Classic/Rick Meindl Invite with a throw of 43-1.75 and 11th in the shot put with a toss of 32-7.
ABBY GRINNELL (Fairview, freshman, throws) won the weight throw at the Silverston Invitational with a toss of 57-2.75 and was second in the shot put with a throw of 43-9.75.
OLIVIA VOCKE (Napoleon, junior, breaststroke/IM) is in her junior campaign with the Yellow Jackets.
CHANDLER ASHBAUGH (Napoleon, sophomore, butterfly/IM) was second in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 55.90 seconds. She also swam in the 100-yard butterfly and the 50-yard freestyle with times of 25.38 and 1:02.45, respectively. At the OAC Championships, she was sixth in the 200 IM with a school-record time of 2:12.97. She also helped 400 medley relay take third in a school-record 4:00.72. Earlier this month, Ashbaugh was named the OAC Female Swimmer of the Week as she won three events and was also part of a winning relay team.
JESSE SWORDEN (Napoleon, sophomore, goalie) in one game this season, Sworden recorded 13 saves, two assists and five steals while earning the win. In her freshman season, Sworden was recognized three times by CWPA with honorable mention rookie or player of the week. She finished the season with the third-highest all-time single season saves and fourth-highest all-time career saves in Mercyhurst history.
