Baseball: Edgerton, Delta sweep twinbills

EDGERTON -- Edgerton opened the baseball season with a sweep of visiting Fayette on Saturday, winning 11-1 and 11-0.

In the opener Nic Edmondson finished with a single, double and triple for Keith Merillat's squad.

Hunter Flower had three singles for Edgerton in the nightcap, with Zeth McNalley adding a single and double.

In the nightcap, sophomore Austin Mohler thew a no-hitter in a 14-0 win. Dominic Mattimore went 2-for-3 for Delta.

In the nightcap, Bryan held Findlay to just four hits. Collin Bacon and David Miller each had two singles for the Golden Bears.

LIBERTY CENTER -- Springfield jumped out to a 6-2 lead after three innings in a 10-4 win over Liberty Center.

Seymour had a single and double to pace the Devils.

Walter Pippin homered for the Tigers, while Mason Knipp added a double.

In the nightcap, Liberty Center scored six runs combined in the fourth and fifth innings in a 10-7 comeback win over Holgate.

Pippin smacked his second homer and added a single for Liberty Center.
