Defiance College overcame a horrendous shooting night in the opening minutes of Wednesday's HCAC clash with Manchester University before settling in and coasting to a 72-54 triumph. The Yellow Jackets (8-6, 4-3 HCAC) missed 12 of their first 15 shots from the field, including a dismal one-of-nine effort from behind the long line, resulting in the visiting Spartans (4-10, 1-6 HCAC) seizing a 12-7 advantage with the game 7:35 old.
