Winter Storm Watch for northwest Ohio

The National Weather Service northern Indiana has issued a Winter Storm Watch for Defiance, Henry, Paulding, Fulton, Williams and Putnam counties in the six-county area.

Heavy snow is expected late Tuesday night into Wednesday. Moderate heavy snow will overspread the area Tuesday night and continue into Wednesday as a strengthening low pressure system tracks east through southern Indiana and Ohio.

Precipitation will likely begin as a period of rain along and south of a Winamac, Ind., to Warsaw, Ind. to Bryan, Ohio, line before changing over to all snow from northwest to southeast.

Snow accumulations are forecast to generally range between 4 and 8 inches. Sustained winds of 15 to 25 mph with mph with gusts to 35 mph will create areas of blowing snow and hazardous travel to the region on Wednesday.
