Time is running out to cast your vote in the first round of The Crescent-News' Cutest Baby Contest.
Voting in the first round of the contest -- in which readers name the area's cutest baby -- will conclude on Monday at 5 p.m.
There are 115 babies entered into this year's contest and the top 50 percent of those babies receiving votes will move on to the second round.
Votes are 50 cents each and may be submitted online, in person or by mail. Mailed and in-person votes must be received by 4 p.m. Monday.
Babies entered into this year's contest can be viewed by visiting www.crescent-news.com. In addition to viewing the photos, people may also recommend their favorite babies on Facebook.
The second round of voting will begin on Feb. 19 and conclude on March 3. Votes cast in the first round do not carry over to the second round.
The baby receiving the most votes after three rounds of voting will receive $1,000 and have his or her photo featured on the cover of the Smiling Faces edition. The second-place vote-getter will be awarded $500 and the third-place winner will earn $250. Photos of the second- and third-place winners will also be published on the inside cover of the Smiling Faces edition.
Proceeds from the contest are used to support The Crescent-News' Newspapers in Education program which provides newspapers to area classrooms.
