A Williams County man who had been reported missing has been located, according to the Williams County Sheriff's Office.
Richard Downing, 73, was located by Pennsylvania State Police near New Castle, Pa. Trooper Victor Stonebreaker of the New Castle, Pa., State Police post responded to a call of a disabled vehicle and found Downing with the vehicle.
Downing reportedly had been last seen driving his 1988 two-tone brown Chevy truck near Pioneer at 8 a.m. Tuesday. He reportedly has Alzheimer's disease.
A spokesman for the Williams County Sheriff's Office reported Wednesday morning that Downing had been stopped at 10 p.m. Tuesday in Beaver County, Pa., by law enforcement for a traffic violation. He was then released.
Downing was transported to Jameson Health Systems in New Castle where he received a precautionary health evaluation. He will be returning to Williams County with his family.
The Ohio Attorney General's Office along with the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office had issued notices and news releases regarding Downing's disappearance.
