A boil alert was declared for Continental residents Wednesday afternoon due to a water main break in the village.
Village water superintendent Michael Leis issued the alert for residents who live on the south side of the rail road tracks. As a precautionary measure, those residents are advised to boil water before using it for drinking, cooking and oral hygiene. The boil alert will be in effect for 48 hours.
