The National Weather Service of northern Indiana has issued a hazardous weather outlook for portions of northwest Ohio, southwest lower Michigan and northern Indiana. This alert includes Defiance, Fulton, Henry, Paulding, Putnam, Williams, Van Wert and Allen counties in northwest Ohio, including the cities of Defiance, Bryan, Wauseon, Archbold, Napoleon, Paulding, Antwerp, Ottawa, Pandora, Van Wert, Delphos and Lima.
There is a chance of thunderstorms through early afternoon today, but severe weather is not expected. Thunderstorms are expected to become more numerous during the mid and late afternoon hours, especially north of U.S. 30. Large hail, damaging winds and isolated tornadoes are possible.
A flash flood watch is in effect from late this afternoon through tonight. One or more rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected from late afternoon through tonight across the watch area. Many of these storms will produce torrential rainfall amounts with rates of 1-4 inches per hour possible. Given moist ground conditions in many areas, the risk for flash flodding will increase dramatically tonight. Total rainfall amounts of 2 to locally as much as 5 inches possible.
