• Defiance County

Health meeting: The Defiance County Board of Health will meet on Monday at 5 p.m. at the Defiance County Health Department, 1300 E. Second St., Defiance. Persons needing special arrangements are asked to call the health department at 419-784-3818, or go to the website at www.defiancecohealth.org.

• Henry County

Deadline extended: Due to the cooler weather this year, the Henry County Solid Waste District will be extending the deadline to register for this year's annual litter roundup to April 20.

If an individual, family, organization or group is interested in participating, they may contact the solid waste office at 419-256-7343.

Health dept. meeting: The Henry County Board of Health will meet at 12:30 p.m. April 10, at the facility at 1843 Oakwood Ave., Napoleon. Persons needing accommodations to attend the meeting can call Julie McHugh at 419-599-5545.

• Putnam County

Program set: The Putnam County District Library is having "Healthy Choices -- Where Do You Start?" program at the Continental branch at 6:30 p.m. April 15. Mona Lisa Hoffman from the OSU Extension Office will discuss how to use the USDA's "My Plate For a Healthier You" and have samples.

All are welcome to attend this free program but registration is preferred to insure ample supplies. Call the Continental branch library at 419-596-3727 to register.

• Fulton County

Board to meet: Northwest State Community College's board of trustees will hold its next regular meeting at noon Friday in the McDougle Center, room A101C, at the Archbold campus.

• Paulding County

National Library Week: The Paulding County Carnegie Library system, including the bookmobile, will be celebrating National Library Week the week of April 15-20. The highlights of the week will include the Battle of the Books county finals on April 16 at 12:30 p.m. at the youth leadership building.

Philip Gulley, best selling inspirational author will also be speaking on the April 16 at 6 p.m. at the OSU Extension building. Reserve a spot for this free event by calling 419-399-2032. The bookmobile will celebrate National Bookmobile Day on April 17 at the Chief Supermarket parking lot in Paulding from noon-7 p.m. and open for tours. Regularly scheduled stops for that day will be cancelled.

Visit the main historic Carnegie library in Paulding to register for prizes during National Library Week.
