HOLGATE -- A one-vehicle crash south of here Saturday night injured two Holgate men, one seriously.

Michael Scott, 21, and Jaren Thompson, 21, were injured in the crash at Henry County roads 16C and F at 8:43 p.m. Saturday.

Scott was listed in "serious" condition this morning at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne, while Thompson was treated and released at Henry County Hospital, Napoleon. Scott had been transported to the Fort Wayne hospital via air ambulance.

According to the Henry County Sheriff's Office, Scott was driving a vehicle southbound on Road 16C when it went out of control, struck a utility pole and overturned, coming to rest on its top.

Sheriff John Nye said alcohol use may have been a factor in the crash. Neither man was wearing a safety belt, he said.

Damage was heavy to the vehicle.
