The U.S. Department of Agricultures latest net farm income figures, which is a measure of the sectors profitability, could give farmers a very good reason to be thankful this Thanksgiving. According to the USDA, the most recent forecast for 2004 estimates net farm income will reach $73.7 billion nationwide, up $14.5 billion from the previous record of $59.2 billion in 2003.
