Seed costs: Proposal could potentially save farmers thousands of dollars

Two similar bills have been introduced in the Ohio General Assembly, one in the House and one in the Senate, that would give producers the right to retain patented seed to be used the following year for replanting. The proposal, if approved, could potentially save farmers thousands of dollars each year in seed costs.
