Leading off Mondays Defiance City Board of Education meeting was an Ohio award presentation to a high school student, followed by approval of two resolutions concerning the importance of art and music in the classroom. DHS sophomore Austin-Nichole Zachrich, 16, was presented the Prudential Spirit of Community Award, an engraved silver medallion, to signify her selection as one of Ohios top two youth volunteers for 2004.
