Recent area disasters give new meaning to special weather week

Are you ready for severe weather?
Over the past couple of years, northwest Ohio has been the site of a few natural disasters, including a November 2002 tornado that tore through two counties and a microburst of high winds in Sherwood in 2002, along with flash flooding, also in the Sherwood area, in June 2003.
Severe weather can happen at any time, said Mark Hopper, Defiance County public safety coordinator.
