A lawsuit filed after there was controversy surrounding the 2001 grand champion barrow at the Defiance County Fair has been settled.
The plaintiffs in the suit, Roger and Lois Zeedyk, on behalf of their daughter, Laura, had filed a complaint in Defiance County Common Pleas Court in June 2002 seeking more than $100,000 in damages from the Defiance County Senior Fair Board.
In a judgment entry filed last week, Judge Joseph Schmenk dismissed the plaintiffs claim with prejudice, meaning the plaintiffs cannot refile their claims. He also ordered the plaintiffs to pay court costs.
According to court documents, the plaintiffs made three claims against the fair board breach of contact, violation of due process and defamation.
