OTTAWA Due to the generosity of Putnam County residents, the amount of funds raised at the Putnam County Homecare and Hospice Valentines Gala has increased annually since it began seven years ago. This years Valentines Gala will begin Feb. 21 at 5:30 p.m. at the Ottawa K of C Hall. This is the major fund-raiser for us, said Julie Mason, hospice medical social service volunteer and fund-raiser coordinator. The social hour begins at 5:30 p.m. followed at 6:30 p.m. by a dinner catered by Henrys. The silent auction begins at 5:30 p.m., followed by a large auction at 7:30 p.m. The Valentines Gala dance will begin at 9 p.m. Mason said more than 250 items that have been donated for both auctions.
