Wintry weather mix hits area

From staff and wire reports Published:

As state, county and municipal crews were still clearing roadways of snow and ice on Monday, the area got hit by more snow and ice, making driving hazardous and closing all the schools. Slippery road conditions were responsible for the closure of all school districts in the six-county area. Closed for the day were all schools in Defiance, Henry, Paulding, Putnam and Williams counties as well as Four County Career Center in Henry County and Vantage Career Center in Van Wert County. Defiance College remained closed through 10 a.m. for employees and students. Not only did schools close their doors, so did the Paulding County Carnegie Library in Paulding and its branches in Antwerp, Oakwood and Payne. The main librarys board of trustees meeting for this evening was also postponed.
