Congressman Paul Gillmor, R-Old Fort, visited Defiance College Monday morning and updated college officials on the progress of a $350,000 grant that could benefit a campuswide technology upgrade.
Gillmor initially made the funding request for DC through the House Appropriates Subcommittee on Labor, Health and Human Services and Education. On Dec. 8, the House of Representatives passed the fiscal year 2004 Consolidated Appropriations Act. This will now go before the Senate for consideration.
We hope the Senate will follow suit on Jan. 20, at which point we will be the proud recipients of $350,000 from the Department of Education thanks to Congressman Gillmor, said Kathy Punches, the colleges director of public relations.
