EEOC dismisses complaint filed by former Hicksville physician

HICKSVILLE A discrimination complaint filed by a former Hicksville physician against Community Memorial Hospital was dismissed by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission on Dec. 23.
Dr. Ahmed Mattar was terminated from his position at the Harlan Family Health Center, Harlan, Ind., early this year.
Mattar, who is Muslim and of Egyptian heritage, believes he was discriminated against based on his country of origin or his religion. He filed suit in Indiana, where the Harlan Family Health Center, which is run by Community Memorial Hospital in Hicksville, is located.
