COLUMBUS An $82 million ethanol plant planned for Defiance County will be a boon to the economy and agriculture in the northwest Ohio area, developers said Wednesday.
We will create a whole new market for corn, Lynn Bergman said of the plant proposed for a site near Hicksville in Defiance County.
NWE Development LLC, of which Bergman is a director, is trying to develop the plant that, if created, would bring $85 million a year in economic activity to the state and would create 35 to 40 new skilled jobs.
Developers said they have selected a site between Sherwood and Hicksville in Defiance County, along Ohio 18.
