Mayor's race was no contest: Armstrong easily ousts Schultz

Although the campaign was quite a battle, the race for Defiance mayor turned out to be no contest Tuesday with Democrat Bob Armstrong (right in photo) easily ousting incumbent Republican Mayor Fred Schultz (left in photo). In winning a four-year term, Armstrong tallied 2,363 votes, or 59.7 percent, to Schultzs 1,595 (40.3 percent).
