Members of the Defiance City Schools Foundation are gearing up for their 14th annual fund-raising campaign to solicit donations from the community. The nonprofit organization underwrites the cost of mini-grants for the city school districts teachers, as well as provides scholarships for graduating seniors.
This years honorary chairman is Rosalie Held, a former city school teacher. Held, who was a second-grade teacher at Anthony Wayne Elementary School, retired in 1999 after 34 years.
