Winkle pleads not guilty: Accused of being in check-kiting scheme

TOLEDO An ex-car dealer from Paulding entered a not guilty plea in federal court Thursday to charges of conspiracy to defraud the United States and bank fraud.
Tom Winkle, 51, and a former Kenton car dealer, Steven Myers, 42 both indicted Wednesday on the same charges are accused of participating in a check-kiting scheme that led to the investigation of former bank executive Mark Steven Miller of the defunct Oakwood Deposit Bank.
