With Defiance City Halls financial picture dropping to desperate levels last year, officials are proposing to exercise an option that has been ignored for 16 years imposing a $5 motor vehicle registration fee that some local governments have had on the books for years. An ordinance levying the $5 fee beginning next year was let lie by Defiance City Council last Tuesday night. It is expected to receive a second reading Tuesday, but not until councils finance committee has a chance to discuss the proposal at 6:30 p.m. that evening in the city service building, 631 Perry St.
