Church benefits from women in stitches

A tradition of quilting at St. John Lutheran Church in Henry Countys Freedom Township goes back more than half a century when women would gather at one anothers home and work on their winter quilts. Many pieces of sheer artwork would be completed while the women talked and shared stories. Back then, they would sit around sewing their intricate pieces and take a break every once in a while for coffee and a snack.
