Former Precision Products factory is major top of city council's discussion

Local government officials have some big plans for Defiances most talked about eyesore, but city council couldnt do much about it Tuesday night with only five of seven voting members attending the bodys weekly meeting.
So, council let lie an ordinance that would allow application for state grant funds to clean up the former Defiance Precision Products factory on Perry Street. Lacking the necessary votes to speed passage of legislation, six were needed council had no choice but let lie that ordinance and six others on their first or second readings. (At-large Councilman Joe Eureste and Ward III Councilman Darrell Handy were absent.)
