City looks at acquiring early storm warning sirens

With severe weather having ravaged the Midwest over the past week, Defiance City Council approved a plan to move forward on the acquisition of several early storm warning sirens.
At Tuesday nights meeting, council agreed to consider future legislation allowing the administration to apply for a $7,500 grant that will help begin the project. But council decided not to consider a resolution opposing two pending General Assembly bills after approving the purchase of a van and letting lie a land-swap proposal at Third and Clinton streets.
