VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 3360 opened in ritual form recently with president Phyllis Retcher calling to order 23 members and two guests, Kathy Oldham, senior vice president of district 1, and Rhonda Leininger.
Oldham conducted the auxiliary's inspection. Leininger gave a talk before the meeting on all services provided by Community Health Professionals in the surrounding 16 counties.
Secretary Joann Decker read the minutes of the last meeting and they stood approved as read.
Helen Mix was initiated into the auxiliary. A short recess was taken to welcome her.
Secretary Decker read thank-you notes from Shirley Schlosser and hospice in memory of Bertie McCoy and Mildred Feeney. She also reported that Northwest State Community College, Archbold, will be sponsoring project Operation Out Reach on Thursday, Nov. 10, at 9:30 a.m. in the Voinovich Auditorium on campus.
This project covers topics such as VA healthcare services, educational benefits, the Ohio bonus, retirement benefits, VA compensation and pensions, and local service organizations.

Hospital chairman, Lois McKay, reported that Grace Baxter and Narci Delgado volunteered 21 hours at the blood bank. Shirley Schlosser, Jane Healy, Peggy Sponsler, Jean Sholl, and Lois McCay volunteered 63 hours at the hospital or at hospice.
Audit committee will meet on Monday at 6 p.m. The next scheduled meeting will be Nov. 9 at 7 p.m.
NEY -- Ney American Legion Auxiliary met recently with president Gelda Beattie presiding over the program.
Only a few dues are yet to be paid; members are reminded to pay them at or before the next meeting.
The auxiliary has been collecting personal care items for Sarah's House in Defiance. Items still needed include children's and women's clothing, toothpaste and brush, deodorant, towels and wash cloths, etc.
The community is invited to make donations as well.
Items may be brought to Irene Winnie, Donna Rupright or Margie Wineland.
The auxiliary voted to donate to the Ney Legion to help purchase treats for its Halloween night.
Making goodie trays and also money making projects were discussed before the meeting was adjourned.

Defiance Eagles Post 372 Auxiliary met recently with 21 members in attendance.
A first reading of application for membership was given for Shirley Thompson and re-enrollee Marcy Feeney. The following applicants were initiated: Vivian Fraley, Pam Porter, Sheila Rhees, and Anna Tumblin.
The auxiliary voted to give $500 each to Polar Bear Plunge and also to Christmas for Kids and $1,000 to Defiance Hospice Auxiliary.
Kay Kraber was the state special activities winner. Get-well cards were mailed to Michele Federinko and Laura Batanian. Madam president, Cathy Aden, thanked all who donated food for the Shaffer funeral dinner and to the following volunteers: Cora Athy, Sam Fortman, Kay Kraber, Joe Call, Kim Stevens, and Ray and Darlene Meade.
Door prizes were won by Mary Richmond, Ann Bidlack, Anna Tumblin, and Cathy Aden.
The next meeting will be Nov. 8 at 7:15 p.m. for officers followed by the regular meeting at 7:30 p.m. at the post home.
