More wins for 'Strutters' baton corps

Scarlet Strutters recently competed at the Twirling Unlimited Ohio Regional Championships in Fremont.

The Strutters entered five events in the competition and won the Level One Beginner Team, Color Guard Championship, and the Two Baton Novelty Championship.

The Strutters also won third-place with the Jr. Dance/Twirl Team and fifth place with Sr. Dance/Twirl Team.

The Strutters also won first-place in all three of its fall parade competitions, which include: Allen County Fair Parade, Lima; Grabil Country Fair Parade, Grabil, Ind.; and Minster Oktoberfest Parade, Minster.

Also the Strutters recently visited GlennPark Assisted Living in Defiance where they visited and entertained residents.

The Scarlet Strutters is directed by Ron Smith. Assistant teacher to the team is Jaliene Maassel.

Membership to Scarlet Strutters is always open and members come from all counties of northwest Ohio. For membership information to become a twirler or play drums, bells or brass instrument call 419-782-0915 or write to ScarletStrutters@aol.com.

Adults are accepted to play drums, bells, brass, or participate in color guard/adult flag team.
