Willitzer and Steffel united in ceremony

Sandra Willitzer and Rex Steffel were married at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 3, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Napoleon by Father Dan Borgelt.

Nuptial music was performed by Tom Singer.

The bride selected a floor-length ivory gown of Italian satin. The custom-made halter top featured a U-shape neckline and Basque style bodice adorned with beads, crystals and pearls. The designer gown had a cathedral-length train with matching beading throughout. She wore a crown with crystals and pearls for her headpiece and a strand of pearls that belonged to her grandmother.

The wedding colors were royal blue and ivory.

Attending the bride as maid of honor was Sheila Hoover of Defiance. Bridesmaids were: Audrey Roth, Crystal Barton and Cathy Fedderke, Defiance; and Lisa Lotz, Napoleon. Flower girls were Ella Cordes and Kate Myers of Napoleon and Tennessee, respectively.

Serving the groom as best man was Dave Fedderke, Defiance. Groomsmen were: Eric Steffel, Houston, Texas; and Dan Steffel, Stetson Bortell and Jerry Chase, all of Defiance. Ushers were Trent and Travis Griffith. Ring bearer was Kaiden Howard, Napoleon.

The bride is self-employed.

The groom is employed by Koester Corp. and is engaged in farming.

Following the ceremony a reception for 300 guests was held at the Defiance Eagles.

The couple enjoyed a weekend trip to Hocking Hills for their honeymoon.

They reside in Defiance.
