AUBURN, Ind. -- Hector Canales, 76, of Auburn, died Friday August 22, 2014, at Betz Nursing home in Auburn.
He was born April 8, 1938, in Salineno, Texas. Mr. Canales had worked at Rise Inc. and also liked to volunteer his time with charitable organizations.
He is survived by brothers, Fred Canales of Corsicana, Texas, and Abel Canales of Millersburg, Mich.; sisters, Elva Canales of Napoleon, Ohio, Yolanda Sustaita of Auburn, Ginnie Bateman of Columbus, Ohio, Peggy Marrquin of Toledo, Ohio, and Mary Sanchez of Defiance; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fernando and Librada Canales; brothers, Ray and Baldemar Canales; and sister, Linda Canales.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 500 E. Seventh Street, Auburn, with Rev. Derrick Sneyd officiating. Visitation will be held Monday from 6-8 p.m. at Pinnington-McComb Funeral & Cremation Services, 502 N. Main Street, Auburn. Recital of the rosary will be held Monday at 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Defiance, Ohio.
