AURORA -- Isabel R. Crossgrove, 84, of Aurora, Ohio, and formerly of Archbold, passed away Friday morning, August 1, 2014, at Crown Center Nursing Home in Hudson.
She was born September 11, 1929, near Archbold, the daughter of LeRoy and Alta (Schloneger) Stutzman. She married Burnell G. Crossgrove on November 29, 1947, and he preceded her in death on February 12, 1988. A resident of the Archbold area most of her life, she was a manager for 16 years at the Sterling Store in Archbold. She volunteered as the county treasurer for the Democratic Party and was a poll worker for 25 years. She was a member of the Archbold United Methodist Church, Eastern Star and American Legion Post 311 Auxiliary.
She is survived by four sons, Frank (Vikki Vidas) Crossgrove of Avon Park, Fla., James (Cynthia) Crossgrove of Hudson, Robert (Geneva) Crossgrove of Sandusky, and Thomas (Lora) Crossgrove of Copley; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Kriss (Carole) Stutzman of Peotone, Ill., and Dale Stutzman of Archbold; and two sisters, Velda Stutzman of Archbold, and Sharon (Eugene) Walczak of Riverview, Mich.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; granddaughter, Melissa Elizabeth Crossgrove; and an infant sister, Violet Stutzman.
Services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Short Funeral Home in Archbold with Pastor Charles Gautsche officiating. Interment will follow in the Pettisville Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday.
