PAULDING -- Robert P. Antoine Jr., 63, of Paulding, passed away on Monday, July 28, 2014, at the Paulding County Hospital.

He was born on March 28, 1951, to Robert and Ingrid (Spatz) Antoine in Garmisch, Germany. On December 31, 2001, he married Sue (Zedaker) Antoine. Robert was a U.S. Air Force veteran serving in the Vietnam War. He retired from the GM foundry in 2001. Robert was a member of the AMVETS and the Eagles of Defiance. He enjoyed fishing and his Harley Davidson.

Robert is survived by his wife, Sue; sons, Robert James (Kristi) Antoine of Pensacola, Fla., Dustyn Antoine of Columbus; daughters, Elizabeth (Dan) Joyce of Boise, Idaho, Christine (Dave) Nolan of Columbus; stepdaughter, Pauletta Vaughn of Defiance; six grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; brother, Randy (Angie) Antoine of Defiance; sisters, Roxanne (Ed) Nester of Defiance, Robin Casper of Defiance; and his mother, Ingrid Antoine of Defiance.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. today, July 30, 2014, at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance, with an AMVETS service that will be held at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, July 31, 2014, with Rev. George Hernandez officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, where military graveside rites will be accorded by VFW Post 3360.
