Ruby Jean May, 78, of Defiance, passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2014, at the CHP Defiance Area In-Patient Hospice Center, Defiance.
She was born on November 22, 1935, to Theodore and Ethal (Musselman) Miller in Paulding, Ohio. In 1977, she married John May, who preceded her in death.
She was a lifetime member of St. John Lutheran Church, Defiance, and she was a waitress at the former Barnes' Restuarant, Defiance.
Ruby is survived by her son, Donald (Tina) Bright of Defiance, Ohio; grandchildren, Andrew Satterlee of Wisconsin, Christene (Corey) Bright of Defiance, Misty (Cody) Jackson of Defiance, Lucas (Roxanne) Sherry of McClure, Ohio, Dawn Bright of Green Bay, Wis., and Timothy Bright of Green Bay, Wis.; great-grandchildren, Gage, Macey, Reiley, Olivia, Kash, Rory, Dylan, Triston, Christina, Evan and Beau; three nieces; and two nephews, as well as numerous stepchildren, stepgrandchildren, and great-stepgrandchildren, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister, Mary Lou McKenney.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 29, 2014, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance, with funeral services following at 1 p.m., with Rev. Josh Schmidt officiating. Burial will take place in the Riverview Memory Gardens.
