DESHLER -- Helen B. Petersen, 81, of Deshler, died Thursday evening, July 24, 2014, at Wood County Hospital, Bowling Green.

She was born August 20, 1932, in Hamler, to the late Harold and Clara (Fintel) Hahn. On December 2, 1951, she married Victor "Vic" Petersen and he preceded her in death on July 21, 1993. Helen was a 1950 graduate of Hamler High School. She was member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church, where she was the organist and pianist. For many years she was a gifted soloist for weddings and funerals. She was a past member of the Bavarian Club, Deshler. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She is survived by her children Patricia Siefer, Hamler; Mark Petersen, Archbold; Peg (Fred) Weber, Hamler; Robin (Mark) Tussing, Deshler; Jon (Beth) Petersen, New Bavaria; and Andrew Petersen, Columbus; 22 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and sister, Wanda Lou Badenhop, Hamler.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Waldo Hahn; an infant brother; and daughter-in-law, Jill Petersen.

Services are at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, Hamler, with Rev. Tamara Wood officiating. Interment will follow in Hope/St. Stephen Cemetery, Hamler. Visitation is from 2-8 p.m. today at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Deshler, and from 1-2 p.m., Monday, at the church.
