NEW ORLEANS, La. -- Jordan Allen James, 28, of New Orleans, Louisiana, and formerly of Napoleon, Ohio, died Monday, July 21, 2014, at University of Chicago Hospital.
He was born October 17, 1985, in Napoleon, Ohio, to James II and Deborah (Nye) James. Jordan graduated in 2004 from Napoleon High School. He enlisted with the U.S. Coast Guard and worked on the cleaning of the BP oil spill. He remained in New Orleans and worked as a regional manager with Ground Penetrating Radar Systems. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Napoleon.
He is survived by his parents, James and Deborah James, Napoleon; brother, James "Jim" James III, Hoboken, New Jersey; sister, Mariah James, Napoleon; girlfriend, LaTara Harris, New Orleans, La; grandparents, Eugene (Linda) Nye, Liberty Center, Ohio and Judith (Terry) Miller, Cecil, Ohio; James and Virginia James, Napoleon; and great-grandmother, Hilda Nye, Napoleon.
He was preceded in death by great-grandparents, Gale Nye, Otto and Laurina Behnfeldt, Paul and Maudie James, and Homer and Esther McVetta.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Napoleon, with Rev. Peter Marcis officiating. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Thursday at the Rodenberger Funeral Home, Napoleon.
