SPENCERVILLE -- Alan D. Brooks, 35, of Spencerville, died Friday evening, July 11, 2014, at his residence in Spencerville.
He was born May 30, 1979, in Lima, a son of Dale A. and Rhonda Jo (Barker) Brooks. His father and stepmother, Candy Brooks, survive in Delphos, and his mother and stepfather, David. L. Youngpeter, survive in Spencerville; along with two sons, Johnathan and Cole Brooks of Delphos; brothers, Derrick and David Brooks of Delphos; and his grandparents, Roger and Joann Barker of Defiance. He was formerly married to Misty Holdgrave of Delphos.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Ray and Norma Brooks.
Alan was a 1997 graduate of Delphos Jefferson High School. He became a tool and die maker and had worked at MacDonald Industries in Spencerville, Lakeview Farms Company of Delphos and PSI Corp of Ottoville. He totally enjoyed being with his boys and all their activities, hunting, chess, camping and trips to Kentucky with friends.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home, Spencerville, with Rev. Rodney Shade officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Landeck. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today in the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to his mother, Rhonda, to be used for his sons.
