Kermit Castle

Kermit Preston Castle, 70, of Defiance, passed away on Monday, June 30, 2014, at the CHP Defiance Area In-Patient Hospice Center.

He was born on August 27, 1943, to Barney and Ethel (Gillespie) Castle in Scott County, Va. Kermit was a 1962 graduate of Ayersville High School. He was a member of the International Association of Machinists & Aerospace Workers for over 35 years.

Kermit is survived by his nephews, Paul (Mindy) Schindler Jr. of Sherwood, Stanley (Chrissy) Schindler of Continental and Marty (Sara) Schindler of Continental; sister, Joan Schindler of Continental; niece, Mary (Chris) McClure of Paulding; brother-in-law Marlon Hoop of Defiance; and nine great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ronald "Wayne" Castle; and a sister, Peggy Hoop.

Visitation is from 9-11 a.m. prior to the services at Schaffer Funeral Home, Defiance, Ohio. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 3, 2014, at Schaffer Funeral Home, with Rev. Max Begley officiating. Burial will follow in Ayersville Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice. Online condolences can be given at www.Schafferfh.com.
