HAMLER -- Betty A. Bishop, 92, of Hamler, Ohio, died Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at Vancrest of Holgate.
She was born December 7, 1921, in Hamler, Ohio, to the late Harley and Ida (Aderman) Rike. On November 20, 1941, she married Merle Bishop, who preceded her in death on February 20, 1999.
Betty was co-owner of Bishop Locker and Abattoir in Hamler, Ohio, for 57 years until it sold in 2000. She was a former member of the Ohio Meat Association for 50 years, Hamler American Legion Auxiliary, and Wide Awake Club. She attended Harvest Fellowship Church and Harvest Bible Studies. Betty was also a member of the United Methodist Church of Deshler.
She is survived by her daughters, Judy (Keith) Johnson, Louisville, Kentucky, Peggy (Tom) Ehrman, Archbold, Ohio, and Debbie (Randy) Burke, Hamler, Ohio; son, Jerry (Linda) Bishop, Hamler, Ohio; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husband, Merle; brothers, Raymond Rike, Franklin (Leona) Rike; and sister, Norma Rader.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 28, at 11 a.m. at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Napoleon. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitations will be held Friday from 2-8 p.m. and Saturday from 10-11 a.m. at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Napoleon.
