NAPOLEON -- Florence Mae (Rettig) Baker, 96, of Napoleon, and formerly of Holgate, died Saturday, June 14, 2014, at the Lutheran Home at Napoleon.
Her Legacy… She was born June 4, 1918, to Harrison and Matilda Rettig in Elery. In November of 1937, she married Arthur Baker. She was a homemaker and member of St. John United Church of Christ, Holgate. She sang in the church choir.
Her Family… She is survived by her loving husband of 77 years; sons, Kenneth Baker, Petersburg, Ky., and Herbert Baker, Toledo; and a daughter, Sandra Shoup; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Howard Rettig; and a sister, Virginia Kite. She was preceded in death by a brother, Vernon; a daughter, Janet Baker Junge; and a great-grandson.
Her farewell services will be private. Burial will be in the St. John United Church of Christ Cemetery, Holgate.
Memorial contributions made in Florence's memory can made to St. John's UCC or Southern Care Hospice in care of the Zachrich Funeral Home, 114 William Street, Holgate. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Zachrich Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Holgate.
