"Jack" Charles F. Seibel, 85, of Defiance, passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at Mercy Hospital of Defiance emergency room.

He was born in Defiance, Ohio, on August 28, 1928, the son of the late Charles K. and Mary (Klein) Seibel. Jack was employed at GM Central Foundry for 36 years, retiring in 1986. He married Betty (Porter) Seibel on Oct. 3, 1958. He was a Navy veteran, a life member of VFW Post 3360 and a life member of the Defiance Elks. Jack enjoyed fishing, boating, hunting and attended First Presbyterian Church.

He will be greatly missed by his wife of 55 years, Betty; two sons, John Seibel of Columbia, Maryland, James (Kris) Seibel of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; a sister, Jeanne Wallace of Richmond, Va.; and five grandchildren, Alex, Nick, Zachary, Cole and Alexa Seibel.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 13, 2014, in the Lawson-Roessner Funeral Home, Defiance, with Rev. Tim Reynolds officiating. Visitation will be from 4-6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 12, at Lawson-Roessner. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery where VFW Post 3360 will conduct honorary military graveside rites.
