Arlene W. Nagel, 87, of Defiance, Ohio, died Saturday, May 31, 2014, at Kingsbury Place Assisted Living in Defiance.

She was born July 8, 1926, in Adams Township, Defiance, Ohio, to the late Arthur and Karoline "Lena" (Maas) Nagel. Arlene graduated from Jewell High School and attended Fort Wayne International Business College. She was a lifetime member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Defiance where in earlier years she taught Sunday school. Arlene was strong-willed, determined and extremely conservative. She loved to go shopping, peanut butter cups and enjoyed watching the Indiana Hoosiers and Detroit Tigers on television.

She is survived by cousins, and was preceded in death by a sister, Delores Nagel; and brother, Karl Nagel.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at Rodenberger Funeral Home in Napoleon, Ohio. Interment to follow at St. Mark's Lutheran Church Cemetery in Defiance. Visitation will be held on Wednesday at Rodenberger Funeral Home from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service.
