NAPOLEON -- Arlene Hershberger, 81, of Napoleon, Ohio, died Sunday, June 1, 2014, at Lutheran Home of Napoleon.
She was born January 6, 1933, in Napoleon, to the late Harold and Nettie (Schweinhagen) Rohrs. She was married to James "Jim" Hershberger, who preceded her in death on August 6, 2013.
Arlene was a title clerk at the Henry County Courthouse for over 33 years and secretary for the former Henry County Prosecuting Attorney Marlow Witt. She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, Napoleon, and a former member of its Couples Club. She was very supportive of her husband's hectic schedule and their children were always her top priority. She was a proud supporter of the Republican Party and a member of the Republican Central Committee. She was also a member of the Napoleon American Legion Auxiliary and former member of the Napoleon Fire Department Auxiliary. She volunteered at the Henry County Hospital and loved to cook for others. She also loved to play cards, go to the casino, and spoil her grandchildren.
She is survived by children, Mike (Holly) Hershberger, Terry (Ruth) Hershberger and Cheryl Hershberger, all of Napoleon; grandchildren, Christine, Amanda, and Faith Hershberger and Gabe Hershberger, Leah Rickenberg, and Anna (Mike) Evans; great-grandchildren, Lynesa and Zoe Shock; and sister, Margaret (Melvin) Wachtmann.
Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2-8 p.m. at Rodenberger Funeral Home in Napoleon and Thursday from 10-11 a.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 5, at Emanuel Lutheran Church, Napoleon. Interment will follow at Glenwood Cemetery.
