MONTGOMERY, Mich. -- Iva A. Keegan, 92, of Montgomery, passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at home.
She was born to Floyd and Emma Mae (Parker) Crawford on September 25, 1921, in Defiance County, Ohio, where she lived for many years. A dedicated homemaker, Iva enjoyed spending time with her large family. She was also an avid fisherman.
On February 8, 1939, she married Hugh L. Keegan, and he preceded her in death in 1997.
Survivors include four daughters, Karen Armstrong of Hillsdale, Mich., Sharon Keegan of Spring Hill, Florida, Judy Altizer of Montgomery, and Kathy (Glen) Altizer of West Virginia; six sons, Kenneth (Maxine) Keegan of Cecil, Ohio, Hugh (Ann) Keegan Jr., Thomas Keegan, Jerald (Lucy) Keegan, Gordon Keegan and George (Janet) Keegan, all of Montgomery; one sister, Vera (Tom) Falstrom of Gaylord; 45 grandchildren; 73 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; 11 stepgrandchildren; and six great-stepgrandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three daughters, Dina Keegan, Mary Jo Keegan and Nancy Johnston; one sister, Betty Johnston; one brother, Glen Crawford; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Reading, Mich., with Pastor Herb Strickland officiating. Interment will follow in Lost Creek Cemetery, Farmer, Ohio. Visitation is scheduled today from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
