FOSTORIA -- Lois A. Bauer, 91, formerly of Fostoria, Ohio, died Tuesday morning, May 27, 2014, at Bridge Hospice Care Center in Findlay.
She was born May 12, 1923, in Paulding, Ohio, the daughter of Royal and Phebe (Durham) Russell. On October 11, 1942, she married Dr. John C. Bauer in Evansport, Ohio. He died Aug. 20, 1995.
Surviving are sons, Bernard (Carol) Bauer of Findlay, Bruce (Martha) Bauer of Fairborn, Ohio; daughter, Brenda K. Rees of Fostoria; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; a granddaughter; brothers, Aaron, Harley, Darius, Harold and Royal Russell Jr.; and sisters, Alice Tilly, Thelma Eitneir-Bauer, Iva Beaverson-Crosser and Anita Rigg.
Lois was a homemaker and a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Fostoria. She was a member of the Fostoria Business & Professional Women and was named Woman of the Year' in 1968. She also chaired numerous blood drives for the Fostoria Red Cross over the years. Lois enjoyed gardening, cooking and sewing.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2014, at 10 a.m. at the Wesley United Methodist Church in Fostoria, with Reverend Michael Malcosky officiating. Visitation is from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, May 30, 2014, at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria, Ohio. Burial will be in Fountain Cemetery, Fostoria.
