BLOOMFIELD, Mo. -- John Bernard Straman III, son of Helen Wade Straman of Defiance, Ohio, and the late John Bernard Straman Jr., was born on July 5, 1954, in Cleveland, Ohio, and departed this life on May 23, 2014, at his residence in Bloomfield, Missouri, at the age of 59 years.
Mr. Straman was a former engineer operator out of Union Hall Locals 18 and 324 in Ohio and Michigan, and was a veteran of the United States Marines. He was a member of the Dexter Eagles, American Legion, and "HOG" Harley Owners Group. John was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Defiance, Ohio, and a current resident of Bloomfield.
On May 23, 1992, he was united in marriage to Margo Maynard in Defiance, Ohio. Mrs. Straman survives of the home in Bloomfield. Besides his mother and wife, other survivors include two sisters, Pat (David) Hire and Sally (Randy) Gerken, both of Defiance, Ohio.
Memorial services are planned for a later date with Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter, Mo., conducting arrangements.
A memorial service for John Straman III will be held on Saturday, May 31, at 11 a.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, Wayne Ave., Defiance. There will be visitation at the church one hour, at 10 a.m., prior to services at 11 a.m.
