MOUNTAIN GROVE, Mo. -- Jimmy Day Fleetwood, 48, of Mountain Grove, passed away on May 17, 2014, in Texas County Memorial Hospital, Houston.
He was born Nov. 11, 1965, in Defiance, Ohio, the son of the late Earl and Doris (Riley) Fleetwood. Jimmy grew up in New Bavaria, Ohio, and graduated from high school in 1984 in Holgate, Ohio. He was employed by the Campbell's Soup Company and later worked for Sauder Woodworking Company. He moved to the Mountain Grove area in 2006.
He married Rhonda (Wright) Brown on June 17, 2012, in Souder, Mo. At the time of his passing, Jimmy was working at WalMart in the automotive and tire department. Jimmy loved spending time with his family, taking care of his son and helping those around him.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers-in-law, Thomas Spence, Archie Burns and Nick Contreras.
He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Fleetwood of their home in Mountain Grove; his 22-month-old son, Ryan Fleetwood of the home; a stepson, Wesley Strong, 6, of Oldfield, Mo.; four brothers, John Fleetwood and his wife, Bonnie, of Holgate, Ohio, Joe Fleetwood of Sunrise Beach, Mo., Lonnie Fleetwood and his wife, Jessica, of Defiance, Ohio, and Randy Fleetwood of Thayer, Mo.; four sisters, Eva Peabody and her husband, Darrell, of Sherwood, Ohio, Lola Fleetwood Mattheu and her husband, John, of Willow Springs, Mo., Lila Fleetwood Spence of Mountain Grove, and Tammy Moody and her husband, Steve, of Drury, Mo.; and a host of other relatives and friends who will sadly miss him.
